Caligula (A.D. 37-38), Silver Denarius. Mint of Lugdunum, struck A.D. 37. C CAESAR AVG GERM P M TR POT COS, bare head of Gaius facing right, rev. radiate head of Augustus facing right, between two stars, 3.72g., 5h (C. 11; BMC 4; RIC 2). Two wonderful portraits, a few light marks in the obverse field with a hairline flan crack on the obverse, otherwise attractively toned, extremely fine.
