All of our sales catalogues are carefully researched, providing full descriptions, provenances where available, estimates and high-resolution colour photographs. Usually available to view on our website four weeks prior to the sale you can also request a copy of the relevant catalogue by contacting us at or by calling our offices.

All items within our auctions are available for viewing prior to the sale date. The exact details can be found in the relevant catalogue and you are more than welcome to come into our offices for London sales to browse the lots and speak with our specialists. There is no fee for viewing but we do ask that appointments are made beforehand, simply so that we can ensure that there is enough space for all viewers on any given day.

Prior to bidding you will be required to create an account with us. If you are a new client to Sovereign Rarities, and in order to open an account for you, we may ask you to provide trade references in advance. This will only need to be done once, and the easiest way to do so is through our website. You will be asked to provide copies of photographic ID and another proof of address evidencing your full name, address and contact details including telephone and email. Please note that as per our Terms and Conditions we reserve the right to require a deposit before bidding. Once you have opened your account with us you will be asked to complete a registration form for the sale itself, and at this point you will receive a paddle number for bidding. We do recommend that you open your account with us and register to bid well in advance of the first sale in which you intend to bid as we may not have time to verify your identity on the day of sale. To do this you are welcome to contact us on the telephone numbers and email addresses listed below.

We want to make buying at auction as smooth as possible for you and, as such, there are a number of different ways that you can bid in our sales:

Irrespective of your method of bidding we will notify you, by email and/or post, following the sale of those lots that you have succeeded in buying. For London sales, if you are bidding online you will be able to monitor your successful bids during the sale by logging into your account on our website. Please note that you will not necessarily always be the successful buyer simply because your bid was at the hammer price as the auctioneer will accept bids in the order in which they are received.

In all instances, once you have submitted a bid to the auctioneer during the live sale it is irreversible, and in doing so you are committing to buy the lot up to the maximum price you have bid. You are also agreeing to pay our buyer's premium and any other charges, fees and taxes applicable to the purchase of the lot. For more information, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.
