Aethered II Penny, Wareham Mint, moneyer Wulfric

Aethelred II (978-1016), silver long cross Penny (c.997-1003), Wareham Mint, Moneyer Wulfric, draped bust left Latin legend and beaded outer border surrounding both sides, legend commences lower left, +ÆÐELRÆD REX ANGLOX, rev. long voided cross with tri-crescent ends, +PVL FRIC MΩO PER, weight 1.77g (N.774; S.1151). Toned with a number of pecks on reverse, a few on obverse, with a bold portrait, good very fine.

The legends translate as "Aethelred, King of the English" and "Wulfric of Wareham."
